Although this blog isn’t really about construction or building planning, I thought it would be useful to some folks in California, who are considering how to best manage the removed soil and at the same time, how to block access to dangerous places, such as pits and foundation sites. The answer? A temporary concrete barrier made of concrete k-rails.

K-Rails have been used all over the world for such things and many mone: Define and Rock, Sand
& Recyclables in Storage Areas, barricade dangerous areas, etc. In California, such a barrier rail type K (that’s why they’re usually called K-Rails) is the de facto standard of the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for building secure, temporary and mobile barriers in roads, construction sites and the like.

Jensen Precast has been manufacturing and renting k-rail for since the 1980s and have been in the precast concrete business for over 50 years now, making them the most reputed source for K-Rails or any other precast concrete product in all of California and sorrounding states.
