This post may well make your last excuse for not having your timesheet up to date die…

Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’re surely aware of Microsoft’s still problematic entry into the small business accounting world - with a yet again soon-to-be-released “Microsoft Small Business Accounting” suite. aimed at the small and midsize business market. When Microsoft moves, everybody watches where he’s heading. At least those who believe that their software is actually novel and that everybody else should be doing what they sell as the “best way of doing XXX”.

Again, a little research shows you that there are many ways of doing something and, as we all know and wish, we should take the simplest path to accomplish each task. For instance, do you REALLY know how much work is involved in a project? You may have an idea but few people actually record each task and so are able to know figure that out.

Sometimes its just SO hard to keep everything together and tidy. I have approx. 12 regular clients (plus some smaller, eventual clients), each one deserves and gets my best. BUT what happens when it all gets too much for me to handle? Enter BillQuick 2008!

BillQuick from BQE Software Inc. is a full-featured billing and time management software that takes care of those tedious and error-prone tasks for me. Tasks that, being a web developer, do not want to do. I could pay hundreds of dollars and start my business with Quickbooks but why? BillQuick does it for me, and at a much cheaper price.

I have just begun to use my 30-Day Free Trial of BillQuick 2008 and I’ll definitely continue using it. I find it so easy (it makes sense, so to speak) even though I am not an accountant. Its wizards and helpful how-to’s made setting up my business account not difficult at all. It prints and manages invoices like a charm. I am still learning to do all of the ins and outs stuff, but it really seems like a good  piece of software.

Just in case you’re thinking about whether it’s worth a try perhaps you should try their ROI Calculator which will give you an idea of how much you’ll save when compared to paying others to manage your accounting stuff. You may surprise yourself… no kidding!
