Have you ever wondered how smart are you managing your finances? I mean, how wisely you spend and invest the money you have worked so hard to earn. I have, and I’m sure many of you have thought about it too.
Although this might seem like a rhetorical question, so it happens that there are ways to quantify your financial intelligence, your Bills IQ. Actually, I didn’t mention Bills IQ by chance. This is the name of one of the best online financial assessment tools I’ve ever found on the Internet.
At its most basic level, it is a quiz where the questions ask you how you save, spend, and use credit in order to establish how well you manage your finances and if you don’t, whether you’d benefit from Debt consolidation. The test was fast and easy. At then end of the survey I was given a BillsIQ score of 91%… an A!!! I think that’s good. It gave an option to compare to other people my age, same income and education.
The average score was 86% so I’m ahead of the curve and, so far, I don’t need any Debt help.
At its core, Bills IQ is a Credit counseling firm that leads you to obtain Debt relief and is a good way to work out credit problems if you have them.
One thing I learned while browsing the site is that I should pay off credit cards that have the highest interest rates first. I don’t really have much credit card debt, as it is paid off monthly for the most part but this tip would really help my brother who’s always buying a lot of stuff using his many credit cards, and is always accumulating Credit card debt.
I think the best advice I got was to have a life plan. Retirement comes fast and I want to be able to enjoy that time of my life. I would love to travel all over the world and not worry about money.
I think I’m going to work on some things to make that more possible. I have seen people who do it both ways… just wait and see what happens and those who plan ahead. I want to be a planner. I know all things come from God, but I also think being a good caretaker of our money is important.
